GPS2AE app for iPhone and iPad

GPS2AE is an App to record longitude-latitude to convert to "Adobe After Effects", "Adobe Illustrator" and "NewTek LightWave".

This App requires GPS function to get the location.

*1 This app will record heading per "True North".
*2 The accuracy of Altitude is low by GPS measurement method. Use it just for reference.
*3 The degree of Heading is not display on Map.
*4 These functions are required Internet connection.
*5 These keyframes will be always liner. Anchor points of Illustrator will be always corner.
*6 Track data is only supported. Route and WayPoint is not supported. If the file hold multi Track Segments, GPS2AE will load only first Track Segment. And Track Point must have Time tag.
*7 The degree of Heading is not exported.


★Converting to After Effects
This app output a jsx (Adobe JavaScript) file.
You can choose converting methods are "XY" or "3D Rotation".

- "XY" : This converting method is calculated with relative distance from the start location. Latitude is Y, Longitude is X, Altitude is Z, Heading is rotation keyframe. This is suitable for day-to-day movement. *8

- "3D Rotation" : This converting method is longitude-latitude just is converted to rotation degrees of 3D Null Layer. This is suitable for global‐scale movement. It is reason that One degree is about 100 km.


★Converting to Illustrator
This app output a jsx (Adobe JavaScript) file.
The converting method from longitude-latitude to XY coordinate is relative distance from the start location. Latitude is Hight, Longitude is Width. *8
Altitude and Heading cannot be converted on Illustrator.


★Converting to LightWave
This app output a mot (LightWave Motion) file.
You can choose converting methods are "XYZB" or "HP".

- "XYZB" : This converting method is calculated with relative distance from the start location. Latitude is Y, Longitude is X, Altitude is Z, Heading is B keyframe. This is suitable for day-to-day movement. *8

- "HP" : This converting method is longitude-latitude just convert to rotation degrees. This is suitable for global‐scale movement. It is reason that One degree is about 100 km.


*8 GPS2AE cannot convert over half of around the world (180 degrees), over the North pole and the South pole too.


Adobe CS or later version is required to import from GPS2AE.
NewTek LightWave 8.0 or later version is required to import from GPS2AE.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
